Description	:	Viennese-Israeli, born 1928 signed, oil on canvas 26″ x 26″Born in Vienna, Rakia came to Israel at the age of 10. After fignting in 1948 he studied with Ardon and attended the Bezalel School of Art. From 1955-60, he attended the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. He has held one man shows in France, England, Switzerland, Germany, Holland and Israel. He is known for his emphasis on light and shade, his mystical use of Hebrew letters and his impressionistic landscepesl. His work is featured in Marcel Mendelson, “David Rakia”, Masada, tel-Aviv, 1980.
